2016 Bike to Work events

Thursday, May 5th, 2016  Celebrate Bike Month with an easy Cruiser ride

  • Kick off Cruisin' Pueblo  season and National Bike Month and the local National Bike & Commuter Cup Challenge with a fun, casual ride downtown! 
  • Meet at Bingo Burger 6 pm, casual cruiser ride leaves around 6:30 pm.  Don't forget to sign in with us before the ride to be eligible for prizes and discounted food and beverages.
  • Riders get 10% off a delicious food order and 50 cents off beer the night of the ride courtesy of Bingo Burger.

Thursday, May 19th:  National Bike to Work Day Happy Hour in Pueblo!

  • Happy Hour downtown:  Join other cyclists after work and before the Cruisin' Pueblo ride for Happy Hour downtown from 4:00-6:00 pm.  We will celebrate on the outdoor patio at the new Brues Ale House, 120 E Riverwalk (corner of Main and Alan Hamel Rd in the old police building).  Happy hour deals include $2 off beer and some appetizer specials. If you are in the National Bike Challenge, you will also earn extra points for the local Commuter Cup Challenge!  Stick around for the Cruisin' Pueblo ride that starts gathering at 6 pm at Bingo Burger, enjoy the ride and socialize and refresh more at Bingo Burger after the ride!

Wednesday, June 22nd:  Colorado Bike to Work Day!

  • Free breakfast stops 6-9 a.m. at these locations. Sign in for extra points on the Commuter Cup Challenge

    • Parkview Medical Center - Main Parkview Campus (Grassy area across from Greenwood entrance)
    • St. Mary Corwin front patio west entrance (outside black windows)
    • Pueblo City-County Health Department (101 W. 9th St)
    • Rawlings Library in courtyard along Union (across from purple yoga studio)
  • Group rides (map updated) Volunteers will be leading rides from the following locations. Contact stephanie@activepueblo.net to lead a ride with a location and time to meet! 
    • Cattail Crossing (corner of Joe Martinez & McCulloch) at 6 am. Ride the brand new road or trail through Lake Pueblo due to Highway 50 road construction so feel free to meet us along the McCulloch trail or road to Nichols Road and north entrance of Lake Pueblo. Lake Pueblo is allowing us through at our own risk so early in the morning, official opening delayed to July 1st.  Lead:  Kim Arline   
    • City Park - pool parking lot - 6:30 am.  Lead: Wendy and Nancy
    • University Park - 6:30 am University Hills Park to ride down Fountain Creek collecting Belmont riders along the way! Lead:  Ken Sharp
    • Mesa area - 6:00 am 25th & South Rd and then 6:10 am corner of Roselawn and Aspen to ride Fountain Creek trail into town.  Lead: Sarah Joseph.
