Bicycle Benefits program

Become a  Bicycle Benefits business member in three easy steps:

  1. Decide on a discount/reward you are willing to offer cyclists when they enter your establishment with an affixed Bicycle Benefits sticker on their helmet.  Bicycle Benefits ask that it is at least equivalent to 10% off purchase price; therefore making it enticing for those with transportation options. Examples include but are not limited to: 10% off, 15% off, buy one (ice cream, drink, meal, energy bar) get one free, free chips with sandwich or salad, free coffee or tea (with your own mug), free dessert with meal, free day membership, $2 bike tubes, 1/2 price bike tune up, $5.00 hair cut, 50% off entrance fee, $1 milkshakes on Mondays.
  2. Purchase at least 10 reflective helmet stickers for $2.50 each which you sell to customers for $5. The "Business Start-up" package is available for  purchase online and includes ten reflective stickers, double-sided store front member sticker and one counter card describing the program and availability of stickers for purchase.
  3. Start selling helmet stickers and offering discounts to cyclists both local and those traveling through your area.  Your business and the discount you offer will be listed in the online directory, which works like a bicycle-friendly business roster for your town. The store front sticker will alert cyclists passing by you are a bike friendly business and offer a discount.

how the program works

Pueblo is on the crossroads of several coast-to-coast bicycle routes with cross country cyclists passing through all summer long and they look for this sticker in windows for bike friendly businesses!  During the winter, cyclists come from across the front range to ride the great mountain bike trails at Lake Pueblo State Park and you could be getting their business!

Bicycle Benefits is a progressive bicycling program designed to reward individuals and businesses for their commitment to cleaner air, personal health, and the use of pedaling energy in order to create a more sustainable community. The program's continual growth decreases parking demand, increases helmet use, and improves cyclists' safety and health by putting more people on bikes.
